3‑Week Hand‑Building Basics (Adults)

Price

£240

Duration

3 Sessions x 2.5 Hours

About the Class

Discover the joy of shaping clay by hand.

This three-week private course for adults introduces the fundamentals of hand-building - from pinching and coiling to working with slabs. Each 2.5-hour session focuses on one technique, guiding you to create and decorate a finished vessel or object of your own.

After the final lesson, your pieces will be bisque-fired and glazed for you in a clear, food-safe finish that enhances the colours and clay’s natural character.

If you’d like to experience the glazing process yourself, an optional glazing session can be arranged. Once your pieces are bisque-fired, you can book the glazing session (approx. 1–1.5 hours, £50) to apply your own colors and designs under guidance.

The course is structured yet flexible, allowing space to follow your rhythm, ideas, and level of experience. Whether you’re new to clay or returning to it, this course offers a calm, creative introduction to pottery made by hand.
